This may depend on exactly how your feet are shaped, but for me these shoes were completely comfortable straight out of the box, no breaking-in needed. I wore them all day and nothing pinched or rubbed. The foot bed seemed to be molded precisely to my foot, and offered very firm support, which is something I need in a shoe.
